We had exceptional service from start to finish at Uptown Auto Specialists, and we are so thankful that we made the decision to get a second opinion and to have all repairs made there. Every aspect of my interaction with them was professional and reliable, and their attention to detail, clear communication, and efficiency -- from the auto shop to the great front desk administrative service -- was excellent. This is why we went to them in the first place -- they inspire trust. We took our Honda Odyssey to Uptown because it was unexpectedly diagnosed with a major issue while it was getting a routine oil change at our regular Honda dealer's service department. Apparently an interior leak needed to be repaired, and it could be only be repaired by replacing a large (and very expensive) part. The Honda team told us that eventually, if left unaddressed, the leak would cover the engine with fluid, and once the fluid got close to the exhaust, the situation would become combustible (literally). Another major repair was also diagnosed, and Uptown confirmed that this second issue needed to be addressed. Since my brother had previously taken his own elderly Honda Odyssey to Uptown on more than one occasion, and everything was done with the utmost professionalism and reliability, we decided to take our car someplace we trusted. We figured that if Uptown ended up having the exact same diagnosis as the Honda team, then the repairs would be made at Uptown, and we would have the assurance that a trustworthy team had taken care of everything. Uptown worked its magic by correctly diagnosing what did and did not need to be fixed, however -- the "leaking fluid" issue diagnosed at the dealer was not a major issue at all, there was a barely detectable leak, and no repair or replacement was needed. Uptown took care of the other issue that did need repair and replacement. What we didn't expect was Uptown discovering a major mistake made by the Honda service team that could have put our driving safety at risk had we not immediately brought the car to Uptown. Honda had neglected to reattach an essential part that they had temporarily removed to (incorrectly) diagnose the major not-a-problem problem. The car was then negligently returned to me without this piece in its proper place. This oversight would have caused the car to malfunction and die on the road if it had continued to be driven. I was lucky that hadn't already happened. Two other relatively minor oversights by the Honda service team regarding the oil change were also addressed at Uptown -- lagniappe goodness! Thank you Uptown Auto Specialists -- we'll be back!
